Cherokee Nation Aerospace & Defense is a contract manufacturer and integrator of electro-mechanical assemblies, including distribution, kitting and the manufacturing of cable and wire harness assemblies. The CNAD manufacturing team is experienced with projects that require expertise in medium to complex integration of ground support, test, flight hardware and armament systems. CNAD is ISO9000:2000 and AS 9100 certified and can serve as a prime contractor on Department of Defense contracts or as a sub-contractor to large aerospace primes. SUMMARY

Ensures that all sheet metal fabrication operations are on time. Handles labor scheduling for fabrication team program. Serves as point of contact for other departments. Develops and presents reports to management and customers on key measurements and performance levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for on-time delivery of all products within fabrication team program
  • Coordinates with Master Scheduler to prioritize work orders as necessary
  • Oversees labor scheduling for assigned team
  • Responsible for implementing lean manufacturing philosophy within team program
  • Performs root cause analysis and strives for continuous improvement within team program operation
  • Responsible for product testing and final inspection
  • Interfaces with Training Coordinator to assess and improve team competency levels
  • Partners with Planning, Engineering, and Program Management departments to ensure complete and correct quoting, tooling, and budgeting for program
  • Generates and/or presents reports weekly, monthly, and as otherwise necessary to review key measurements and performance levels
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Manages all team members for assigned program(s). Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility and objectives. Assigns and directs work. Corrects and disciplines. Recommends salary increase and performs formally review performance. May recommend promotions and discharges; may interview and select employees; may set or recommend new employees’ rates of pay and hours of work. Trains those in the production department. Determines the means, methods and materials for performing work. Plans the work operation and may handle employee relations

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 7 years experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Database software, word processing software, Internet software, inventory software, manufacturing software, spreadsheet software. Interpersonal skills; presentation skills; budgeting skills; telephone skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; must be capable of performing all functions of sheet metal fabrication; must be able to perform inspection of products and must know the of status of all production jobs.
