Library Technician, Curtis Bay, MD, US ID# 16598




We are seeking a Library Technician to the U.S. Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center’s Technical Information Management Branch with maintenance, tracking, and management of technical documentation within multiple databases and applications. The Technical Information Management Branch is a part of the Surface Forces Logistics Center’s located in Baltimore, Maryland.




  • Work independently with little oversight by the government under direction of a technical lead in the Technical Information management Branch (TIMB)
  • Collect, organize, review, and scan hardcopy aperture cards, electronic files, as well as engineering drawings into .PDF format for publication into CG-LIMS-STIP
  • Review, index, and prepare engineering drawings for archiving and submission to NARA
  • Attend Meetings and Conferences as directed by the COR
  • Complete other ad-hoc requests for technical data as required




  • This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity





  • Learn basic drawings requirements defined in COMDTINST M9085.1, Naval Engineering Computer Aided Design Standards
  • Working level understanding of the Coast Guard Logistics Information Management System – Surface Technical Information Portal (CG-LIMS-STIP)
  • Associate’s degree or at least two (2) years of task related experience
  • Pass a NACI background investigation and obtain a government issued Common Access Card (CAC) to access USCG IT systems and facilities




  • 1-3 years of experience providing data entry and data management support.


  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written


  • Pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory


  • Ability to develop written documents, track requirements, and other project specific tasks as needed.


  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meticulously perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of data verifying accuracy and completeness.




  • This position is primarily performed in a secured federal office setting, a controlled office environment.
