Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS) is looking for a Management consultant to join our Census team supporting the 2020 Census Bureau budget for the Information Technology (IT) Directorate. This position will be fast paced, challenging, and constantly changing as we support the ramp up to the 2020 Census. This position will be responsible for responding to data calls, developing relationships with customers, and working with customers to develop budget requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation based upon request
  • Act as a liaison to the Decennial Budget division for the creation of new cost collections and report on cost collection carry-forwards
  • Performs trend analysis coordination for budget development
  • Be responsible for inputting and maintaining profit and loss information, operating plans, budget planning documents, and vacancies into the federal finance system
  • Review budget with the senior management in monthly meetings.
  • Coordinate funding for software, travel, and training with the Budget team regarding deobligations and/or reobligations
  • Verify contract modifications within the financial system
  • Provide financial data reporting to division chief and variance reporting to all project sponsors
  • Respond to internal/external data calls
  • Analyze contract documents and translate into budget system

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position does not have any management and/or supervisory authority.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Only US Citizens may apply
  • A Public Trust Clearance is a requirement of this position and/or the ability to obtain one.  
  • Candidates will undergo a federal background investigation and must favorably pass a drug screen.
  • Bachelor's degree: Business Administration, Financial and Budgetary Management, Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of Federal consulting and/or private industry experience in Budget/Finance knowledge and experience
  •  

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to clearly communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent MS Excel skills including V-Look Up and Pivot tables
  • Ability to analyze a problem analytically and develop recommendations

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will be located in and primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting within a secured facility.
