CNT is looking for a Sr. QA Automated/Manual Tester for web development in a .NET Core environment to apply various programming/testing techniques, processes, and tools to ensure the creation of robust code. The QA Automated/Manual Tester will be assigned to the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Federal Grain Inspection Services (FGIS) project.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The QA Tester is responsible for creating manual test cases and from Case Complete and Balsamiq requirement documents, ensuring traceability.
  • Perform unit, integration, and regression tests.
  • Ability to think strategically and utilize automated tests to reduce the manual testing effort.
  • Ability to clearly define/organize test scenarios in logical manner that tell users what is being tested.
  • Develop and implement automated browser tests with Selenium
  • Develop backend automated unit test scenarios using C#
  • Test web services developed using .NET Web API
  • Use MS SQL Server databases to validate backend business rules
  • Thoroughly document and manage bugs using TFS
  • Work effectively in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Create performance testing scenarios and evaluate proper tool selection for load testing, execute performance testing.
  • Creatively solve problems, leverage new tools, implement cutting edge solutions
  • Contribute to our collective brain power through innovation and peer review
  • Create a cadence of automated tests that are completed and ready for execution shortly after testing is completed.
  • Create a strategy for utilizing the same automated tests in multiple environments.
  • Ability to utilize TFS to execute and gather automated test results.

 

 

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

This position will not have supervisory authority.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Public Trust
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience as a QA Tester
  • 5+ years of Selenium 
  • 5+ years of C# or .Net Core
  • 2+ years of MS SQL Server
  • 5+ years of automated testing
  • 3+ years of recent Team Foundation Server
  • 3+ years of recent Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Focus and independent drive to complete tasks
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • U.S. Citizen

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experienced in software testing in .Net Core environment.
  • Ability to communicate via written and oral means.
  • Experience in the use of SQL Database.
  • Experience working with Selenium.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience with performance testing strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in Agile Scrum environment.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The duties of this position are primarily performed in a climate controlled office environment. Occasional travel and overnight stay may be required.

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

CNT provides enterprise application development from requirements definition, architecture, and design, to software development, deployment, and support and maintenance. We have also created and provide support for a continuous integration and deployment with automated configuration management environment to provide a dev/ops operational environment utilizing TFS and other open source tools.

The project includes three major functional areas;

 (1) Development of a web portal that also serves as a standalone application;

(2) Integration and automation of instrument collection results with web portal; and

(3) Creation of a disconnected architecture that can function across the United States 24 hours daily as standalone platforms with synchronization back to the web portal once internet connection is re-established.
