Job Description:

CNT is looking to fill the position of a System Administrator / Database Administrator to join its Systems Team, which supports applications developers and a large user base. The selected individual will provide intermediate level (Tier II to Tier III) support and will need to have proven experience in performing Linux Administration at an expert level. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS is desirable.  FWS uses PostgreSQL for its database and experience with PostgreSQL; or a similar enterprise database, is highly desirable.  Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher will be a great plus for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Deliverables):

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Maintain excellent communication with all developers, supervisors, and staff in written and verbal form.
  • Experience with Linux Systems Administration.
  • Possess a solid understanding of databases; particularly PostgreSQL, and experience beyond the user level.
  • Backup and restore of databases.
  • VMware maintenance and support.
  • A good understanding of Enterprise Windows systems and Active Directory is a plus.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computer networking and understand the roles of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos LDAP, etc. in an enterprise environment.
  • Monitoring the ECOS environments, addressing or assisting with operational issues, performing routine maintenance, working with developers to deliver the required environment and other duties as directed.
  • Install and configure software.
  • Configure, Maintain, and Support PostgreSQL databases within a Linux environment.
  • Document issue resolution using the Help Desk ticketing system (JIRA).
  • Help to maintain inventory of all hardware and software resources as deployed.

This position does not have management authority or supervisory capacity.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or technically related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods; use hands to type, manipulate or move objects, tools, controls or equipment; and reach forward with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include visual acuity to Colorado driver's license requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee might lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 lbs.
